As for his professional credentials, he is R&D Manager in Mitsubishi Electric Automation in Cambridge,MA. Before that, he was a Project Manager and Senior Electrical Engineer within 8 years at Schlumberger Ltd. He is also an Affiliate Member of IEEE SAM Society. He obtained his doctoral degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His Ph.D. research thesis was “Acoustical Time-Reversal Signal Processing: New Developments and Applications”. He has also published more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, which have been cited by number of researchers worldwide.
During his time working at Schlumberger, he has focused on smart control and digital automation using data analytics and machine learning. Specifically, a control system and machine learning algorithms are developed for modeling and simulation of the cementing process for oil and gas wells. It also results few US patents granted/filled in the system design and process control. As the cementing process is critically important for the successful drilling of a well, advances to this end are of great significance.
