Under the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, we support partner countries in their own digital transitions, emphasising reliable, balanced, and mutually beneficial collaboration.
For the EU, Vietnam is an attractive and dynamic partner in the Asia-Pacific. With high smartphone adoption, robust connectivity, and ambitious policies, the country targets becoming a top 30 digital nation by 2030. Key priorities include AI, semiconductors, 5G/6G, cloud services, and cybersecurity. Recent reforms and increased global partnerships have strengthened its digital ecosystem.
These developments offer significant opportunities for increasing mutually beneficial EU-Vietnam collaboration in the digital field, fostering mutual innovation and growth in the digital sector.
A key element of the EU’s international digital strategy is the “European Tech Business Offer” which provides an integrated approach that pools European tech, expertise, know-how and, investments, and provides access to services, capacity building and skills development to accelerate digital transformation.
A D4D forum to stimulate innovation and tech competitiveness

The D4D Hub, the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) and EuroCham Vietnam are co-organising in partnership with the National Data Association (NDA), and the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) a multistakeholder forum titled:
“Scaling-up digital investments: Connecting the European Tech Business Offer with Vietnam’s digital future”
This event aims to

- Semiconductors: How can Vietnam and Europe work together to secure their supply chains and move up-market in the value chain?
- 5G, 6G and subsea infrastructure: How are Europe and Vietnam securing future 5G and 6G networks as well as submarine cables?
- Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI): How do DPIs strengthen digital sovereignty by creating opportunities for the private sector?
- Geospatial data and Artificial Intelligence: How to leverage geospatial data for sustainable development in Vietnam?
- Digitalisation of companies: What are the challenges and opportunities for companies involved in the twin green and digital transitions?
