Technology transfer solutions for businesses / PGS. Dương Minh Hải
On October 13, 2020, opinions were discussed by experts at the Business Dialogue and Technology Innovation Forum held on the afternoon of November 25 in Gia Lai. The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Central Economic Commission, and Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee within the framework of Techdemo 2019.
In recent times, many policies have been enacted to encourage businesses to innovate technology through tax tools; financial support programs such as establishing the Science and Technology Fund; low-interest credit support and credit guarantees for loans serving technological innovation… Through these programs, some businesses have developed and thrived due to technological innovation. “However, technological innovation is still not widespread, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises,” Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung said.
At the forum, many business opinions were expressed about the need for technological innovation. However, due to limited financial resources and lack of information about the mechanisms and policies supported by the state, accessing financial support for these activities is still challenging.
As someone who has collaborated with businesses for many years, Associate Professor Duong Minh Hai from the National University of Singapore gave an example from this country where businesses are always ready to innovate technology. When scientists write research projects, they must have business support. To achieve this, the issue scientists raise must align with the interests of businesses. If the research solves problems that businesses are currently facing, then funding is no longer a difficult matter. What businesses need to do is simplify production, improve investment efficiency.
